Chinese Premier Li Keqiang pointed out in the government work report that “the energy production and consumption revolution, is related to the development and the people”. Chinese Premier suggested to develop vigorously wind power, photovoltaic power, biomass energy in the contexts of energy consumption revolution. The concept of ‘energy internet’ and ‘Internet’, heralded the development of China’s energy industry, will enter a new historical stage.
In the light of this, the 241st Engineering Technology Forum: Energy Internet, organized by Chinese Academy of Engineering, was held in Shanghai on 17th Nov 2016.
Professor Qili Huang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Senior Expert of State Grid Corporation of China gave welcome remarks in regarding the energy internet development opportunities and challenges.
In this Forum, several renowned experts on smart grids and energy internet were invited to give keynote speech. Prof Qiang Lu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor at Tsinghua University, gave a keynote speech on the Key Technologies for Energy Internet. Professor Yixin Yu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor at Tianjing University, gave a keynote speech on the Key Concepts and Technologies for Smart Grid. Professor Hong Rao, President of China Southern Power Grid EPRI presented the “Smart Grid and Energy Internet: CSG’s development and practice”. Dr Naihui Li, Managing Director of GE Grid Solutions Shanghai Technology Centre gave a presentation on “Digital Technology Assisted Energy Internet”.
Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang, Director of Smart Grid of Birmingham Energy Institute, was the only keynote speaker from overseas, who gave a speech on “European Energy Internet Development”.
The Forum was chaired by Prof Shilie Wen, Former President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Prof Zhen Huang, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
